• Firewall configuration — UFW for straightforward setups, nftables when you need more control. Configured for your actual use case, not just "allow everything and see what breaks."
• WireGuard VPN — Self-hosted WireGuard for remote access, site-to-site, or routing specific traffic through a VPS. Cleaner than OpenVPN and actually fast.
• Port forwarding & NAT — Game servers, remote access, VM networking. Getting traffic where it needs to go without poking unnecessary holes.
• DNS — Local DNS, Pi-hole, split-horizon setups. Useful when you want some domains to resolve differently inside vs. outside your network.
• Network performance for gaming — Interrupt coalescing, queue discipline, traffic shaping. The stuff that matters when you're gaming and your roommate is streaming.
• VM networking — libvirt bridges, NAT, macvtap, and the VFIO passthrough networking edge cases that are not well-documented anywhere.
• Troubleshooting — Connectivity issues, routing problems, mysterious packet loss. We dig in with the actual tools instead of guessing.
